How It Works
How Percentages Work
"Percent" means "per hundred." When you calculate X% of Y you multiply Y by X/100. To find what percent X is of Y you divide X by Y and multiply by 100. Percentage change is computed as ((new - old) / |old|) * 100, giving you the relative increase or decrease.
